Howard "HD" Davis ready to step into his destiny in BKFC 56 title shot

Howard “HD” Davis believes his destiny is to be a BKFC World Champion.

At BKFC 56, Davis has the opportunity to accomplish that feat when he challenges the champ Kai Stewart (4-0) for Stewart’s BKFC World Featherweight Championship on Dec. 2 in Salt Lake City, UT, LIVE on The BKFC App.

If he’s being totally honest, Davis thought he’d already have the belt around his waist, had it not been for a fight-ending cut he suffered against Louie Lopez at BKFC 34 last December. In Lopez’s next fight, he took on Stewart for the inaugural BKFC World Featherweight Championship, losing to the future champ via unanimous decision.

Davis wasn’t discouraged by his loss to Lopez – quite the opposite. Hungrier than ever, Davis rattled off three straight stoppage victories in the Squared Circle in 2023.

Patience is a virtue for Davis, who’s feeling more motivated and dangerous than ever before heading into his long-awaited title shot.

“I’ve learned so much about myself since getting cut, mentally and physically, so I’m much more equipped as a fighter now and I have a much better mentality,” he says.

“I’m so, so, so much better as a fighter,” he adds. “I’m so much more comfortable in there. Everything moves slower, and it’s just a matter of implementing the game plan.”

Davis prayed when his title shot continued to evade him; he says God told him to be patient. Davis is extremely grateful for any opportunity to compete in the sport he loves, but at BKFC 56 he says he’s ready to take what’s his.

“It’s my time now and I’m taking that belt,” the Plantation, FL featherweight says.

“It’s going to be a surreal feeling. All the hard work, the injuries, the sacrifices I’ve made. It’s going to come full circle, and it’s going to take me to another level. When I get that belt, I’m not giving it up for anybody.”
