It’s true that you can learn more from a loss than a victory.
Just ask Eric “Thuggy Bear” Dodson.
After beginning his BKFC career with back-to-back, first-round finishes, the fast-rising Dodson was defeated in his most recent outing, dropping a decision to Robert Armas at BKFC 48 in August.
“I wasn’t necessarily cocky or anything like that, but there were things that were overlooked in my preparations for my last fight. My loss made me remember the little details – the things that need to be done to be completely ready on fight night.
“It humbled me, and it gave me that drive again.”
Dodson is preparing for his fourth trip to the Squared Circle. He takes on fellow featherweight prospect Dakota Highpine (1-2) in the Co-Main Event of the BKFC Prospect Series event in his hometown of Albuquerque, NM on Jan. 27 at Revel Arena, LIVE on The BKFC App.
Dodson says he’ll be ready for anything, but a third highlight-reel stoppage would be ideal.
“That’s obviously the goal,” he says with a chuckle.
“It’s always the punches that you don’t see coming, so hopefully I can step out of the way and make him run into something big.”
