Howard “HD” Davis is ready to pick his shots.
After having surgery on his hand earlier this year following his Majority Draw with former UFC headliner Jimmie Rivera, Davis has been working on his discipline as a striker.
It’s not necessarily that Davis sees himself throwing fewer punches Saturday at BKFC 34, but he does plan on putting more thought into where they land, and at what velocity, after originally injuring his money maker in his stoppage victory over Josh Wright earlier this year.
“I’m just trying to pick my shots way better,” the Florida featherweight contender says with a chuckle. “I’ve been working on a lot of things for when I’m back in there.”
It’s an understatement to say that Davis, the No. 1-ranked BKFC featherweight contender, is excited to once again showcase his handiwork at BKFC 34 on Saturday against Louie Lopez.
“Oh my God, I don’t even know how to describe how excited I am,” Davis says. “Fighting is my life, you know? I can’t wait to earn a paycheck, and I can’t wait for that feeling of walking to the Squared Circle. That’s a feeling that you can only experience if you’re a fighter, you know?”
