Dakota Highpine is firing on all cylinders heading into 2024

Dakota Highpine is ready to kick 2024 off on a high note.

He enters the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship Squared Circle for the fourth time on Jan. 27 against Eric Dodson (2-1) at the next BKFC Prospect Series event at Revel Arena in Albuquerque, NM, LIVE on The BKFC App.

The 26-year-old Great Falls, MT featherweight is eager to turn the page on a frustrating 2023 campaign that saw him drop both of his BKFC fights.

“2023 definitely didn’t play out as I had hoped, but I’ve got a quick head start on 2024 already,” Highpine says. “I have four or five weeks left until the fight, and I’ve been in the gym constantly, I’m always improving, and I’m also getting lots of rest at night.

“I’m ready to go.”

After falling short in back-to-back bouts, many fighters might ask for a “tune-up fight” to get back in the win column and rebuild their confidence. That definitely wasn’t the case for Highpine, who jumped at the opportunity to share the Squared Circle against the heavy-handed Dodson in Dodson’s hometown of Albuquerque.

“I write my own story. I don’t want to be a follower. Dodson is a very skilled fighter, and I want to test my skills against the best of the best,” he says.

“If you want to be the best in the world, you have to be ready to fight the best in your weight class, and that’s exactly what I want to do.”
