It’s business as usual for David Mundell – and business is booming.
In the Co-Main Event of BKFC 34 in Hollywood, FL on Dec. 3, Mundell will challenge the undefeated Francesco Ricchi (5-0) for Ricchi’s BKFC World Middleweight Championship, LIVE on the BKFC app.
Mundell is 5-1 on the strength of three straight wins. There’s no doubt this is the biggest fight of his blossoming BKFC career, but he’s not phased by the magnitude of the task at hand.
“I train as if every fight is the most important fight of my career, so this is no different,” Mundell says after a recent training session. “I push myself very hard to make sure that everything is in order, regardless of which fight I’m preparing for.”
Although the stakes are higher and there will be more eyes on this bout, Mundell says it’s easy to keep things in perspective.
“Nobody wants to lose, period. All fights are extremely important. With this being a title fight, it doesn’t really add anything to the equation because I already feel like I’m the champ. I put the time and work in, and then I go out there and show how it’s done. I just go out there and showcase what I know, and I believe that that’s better than what my opponent has to offer.”
All that being said, Mundell admits the belt will be special.
“It will definitely mean a lot,” he says with a smile. “But this is just the start of my career, so it’s time to keep going.”
